Justin Timberlake - Superbowl LII Halftime Show

The crowd was hype, the band, also known as the Tennessee Kids, were on fire, and the Air Jordan 3's sold out! But of course not everyone was so impressed by J.T.'s well rehearsed and entertaining Pepsi Superbowl LII Halftime Performance.

Timberlake gave his real fans the show that is very similar to his concerts, (but with a larger budget). He sang a medley of his hits starting with his first single from his new album, "Filthy', to 'Rock Your Body" (the song he got in trouble with Janet Jackson), to "SexyBack" to "Mirror". For "Suit and Tie" he brought out University of Minnesota's marching band and they two-stepped with him a little bit.

Then he did a special tribute to the late great Prince, whose home was in Minneapolis. He started the tribute with playing the piano to "Until The End of Time" and mixed in Prince's "I Will DIe For You" while playing a video and still images of the singer performing the song. At the same time they had the city lit up purple forming Prince's symbol. There en lies the controversy. Personally I thought it was a beautiful tribute and gave me chills. Originally Timberlake was going to do a hologram of Prince, but decided not to after his (Prince's) estate disagreed with it, quoting that back in 1998 Prince thought of it as demonic. Although he did not do the hologram some fans still thought it was disrespectful to have Prince's image displayed at all, they would have preferred he bring out Sheila E. or someone else affiliated with Prince for the tribute. Look y'all can't knock the guy for wanting to celebrate one of his idols and the way he did it was so beautiful that it just seems like haters to me...

Anyway after the Prince performance he finished it up with "Mirrors" and "Can't Stop The Feeling" walking out into the frenzy of fans. J.T. showed that he still had some of his dance moves and swag, but it was a little bit more laid-back. He was moving all across the field, because his stage was so wide, and he never seemed winded or tired. His outfit was a custom suit designed by Stella McCartney and he wore custom Air Jordan 3 "JTH" edition, which were released for $200 about 2nd quarter of the game quickly selling out and being re-sold for as high as $2.500. Although many 90's boy band fans were hoping for an NSYNC reunited performance, it didn't happen. I thought that he had enough on his greatest hits list that he didn't need them to compensate for his solo music. Overall he put on a show, I'm clearly biased but you be the judge for yourself and tell me what you think.
