BET Awards 2017: The Good, The Not Good, The Entertaining and The Unnecessary

This past Sunday was The BET Awards and with every award shows comes some interesting things and good conversations. I decided to give you all my perspective on the show with the good, the not good, the entertaining and the unnecessary.

The Good

New Edition's performance was really good. I loved that they brought out the guys from the 3-part biopic. The coordination with the all white and the choreography was definitely on point. Shout out to them for putting their differences aside and continuing to put on a good show for their fans.

The Not Good

As much as I like Leslie Jones and enjoy her comedian flare, I thought that she wasn't that good as a host. Some of the jokes were forced or didn't go over that well and at times it seemed like she was screaming at her audience. Her Fantasy Basketball Camp skit was pretty funny, but other than that her hosting was pretty forgettable. I understand she was probably nervous to be on such a grand stage and I'm sure her next hosting gig will go great.

The Entertaining

Chris Brown's performance made me realize that no matter what the headlines say, this man is still working on his talent as a great dancer and entertainer. He reminded me a lot of Michael Jackson, with his dance moves.

Another entertaining moment was Bruno Mars opening the show. Bruno has been performing at about every big award show this year and he never fails of giving a great performance. Shout out to him and his band/background dancers.

The Unnecessary

I'm happy that Remy Ma broke Nicki Minaj's streak of winning Best Female Hip-Hop Artist, because honestly I think she is a better lyricist. But I'm not a fan of her pettyness. She already destroyed Nicki on that ShEther record and Nicki's response sucked so Remy Ma won the rap battle and the award. I thought it was unnecessary to come at her again during her acceptance speech, that should have been her moment only. But whatever, she still winning.

Just in case you missed the show the BET Awards encore is on Tuesday, June 27th, (and I'm sure they'll play it again through out the rest of the summer) you can make your own opinions on The Good, The Not Good, The Entertaining and The Unnecessary.
